Pitcher Margaritas are My Party-Preferred Beverage

When I’m having guests over, I nearly always mix up a big pitcher of these margaritas! It keeps me from having to play bartender all evening. When I don’t have to mix everyone’s drinks individually, I can spend more time enjoying the company…..and my own drink.

Is there anything as refreshing as a chilled margarita?  This is my favorite recipe and I think the amaretto and triple sec liqueurs really enhance the flavors of the tequila and the limeade. Plus, I love how easily and quickly this recipe comes together. Just refrigerate until it’s time to pour cocktails over ice.

Let’s Talk About the Ingredients You’ll Need for Pitcher Margaritas

  • Tequila – use a good top-shelf tequila so that it’s smooth in flavor and not bitter or sharp. Cheap tequila can ruin a good margarita in a flash! (It also gives me a stomach ache!)
  • Amaretto – an almond-flavored liqueur, amaretto is actually made from apricot pits, so this explains why it enhances the flavor of margaritas.
  • Triple Sec – here’s where the orange flavor and the sweetness comes from in this recipe.
  • Limeade – this is a concentrate that is found in the freezer section.
  • Club Soda – this adds some carbonation to the margaritas. If you prefer, you can add water in place of the club soda.

How To Make Pitcher Margaritas Made with Limeade

  1. Grab your prettiest tall glass pitcher.
  2. Stir your ingredients together using a long-handled spoon – tequila, amaretto, triple sec, limeade and club soda.
  3. Test the margarita mixture by sampling just a bit so you adjust the ingredients as needed. If the margaritas need sweetened, add a bit of simple syrup or agave nectar.
  4. Meanwhile, prepare your cocktail glasses by salting the rims then filling them with ice.
  5. Pour! Serve the margaritas garnished with fresh lime slices.

How to Serve Fun and Festive Pitcher Margaritas

  • It’s fun to make cocktails look festive and appetizing. I prefer to use glass for serving margaritas so the pretty color of the cocktail can shine through.
  • Another option for serving margaritas is doing so in chilled Mason Jars with salted rims for giving off that authentic Mexican look and flavor.
  • To salt the rims, simply rub lime along the edge of the glass before dipping it into coarsely ground salt. Garnish with a fresh lime and you’re well on your way to a festive party!
  • Now that there is a large variety of flavored salts on the market, you can find fun salt pairings for the rim of your margarita glass – the flavored salts also add lots of fun color.
  • Don’t forget the sliced fresh limes! Margaritas just wouldn’t be margaritas without a lime or two perched on the top of the cocktail glass. 🙂
