INGREDIENTS YOU’LL NEED TO MAKE THIS EASY RECIPE

  • Deli ham
  • Smoked Gouda cheese
  • Butter
  • Spicy brown mustard
  • Brown sugar
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Poppy seeds, optional

TIPS FOR Serving Sliders

  • A good way to keep sliders warm at a party is by placing them into a slow cooker set to the warm setting.
  • Sliders can also be kept warm in the oven. Use the lowest temperature setting and keep the pan of sliders covered with foil so they don’t dry out.
  • Use a pizza cutter to serve. It makes cutting sliders so easy!

How to make HAM AND CHEESE SLIDERS

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Spray a 9X13 inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray; reserve.

Open the rolls from their package, slide out the tray, and slice them in half, where you have all their tops in one “sheet”, and all their bottoms in one “sheet.”

Place the bottoms in their sheet-like form in the prepared baking pan.

Layer half of the ham on top of the rolls; sprinkle with all of the cheese. Top the cheese with the remaining half of the ham.

Then add the sheet of the roll tops.

Meanwhile, melt the butter.

Whisk in the Worcestershire Sauce, mustard, and brown sugar.

Evenly pour the butter mixture over the tops of the rolls.

Sprinkle with poppy seeds, as desired.

Cover the pan with foil, and allow to rest for 30 minutes, if time allows.

Bake, covered, for 20 minutes on the center oven rack.

Remove the foil, and bake for another 5 minutes.

Slice into individual sliders, and serve.

Sometimes, using a pizza cutter to slice sliders apart is convenient and makes the task quicker.

Or use a skinny spatula to lift the sliders out of the pan.

HOW MANY SLIDERS WILL SERVE EACH PERSON?

I like to figure 1-2 sliders per person if you are serving sliders at a party with other side dishes and appetizers.

Or, if you are serving sliders as a meal, its always a safe bet to figure 3 sliders per person.

How long to cook Kings Hawaiian Ham and Cheese Sliders

Bake your ham and cheese sliders for 20 minutes covered and 5 minutes uncovered.

CAN YOU FREEZE ham and cheese SLIDERS

Yes, double the recipe and make two pans of sliders at once.

That way, you can freeze a pan of sliders for later.

To bake, thaw the sliders in the pan and bake as directed in the recipe card below or until hot throughout.

Can you make ham and cheese sliders the night before

Yes, assemble the rolls, cheese, ham, and butter mixture and place them in the refrigerator covered with clear plastic wrap.

If you plan to pull them out of the refrigerator and quickly put them in the oven, add 5-10 minutes to the covered baking time.

If you can pull them out of the refrigerator and let them rest and warm to room temperature, follow the original cooking directions.

HOW DO YOU CUSTOMIZE SLIDERS?

That’s the fun part about making sliders – they are easy to customize by changing the meat and cheese.

You can use any deli meat, such as roast beef or pastrami, or even just use shredded leftover roast beef or rotisserie chicken.

The meat has to be fully cooked for making sliders.

When it comes to cheese, the sky is the limit, too.

Use mozzarella, Swiss, Fontina, Parmesan, Colby Jack, etc., whatever! It’s completely up to your taste buds and preferences.

WHICH TOOLS ARE HELPFUL FOR MAKING SLIDERS?

9 x 13 Baking Pans – You can use a metal 9×13 baking pan for this sliders, but I really prefer glass 9×13 baking pans for sliders. I love the 9×13 glass baking pans that come with a nice silicone lid that’s raised a bit so the contents don’t get smashed down.
