Ingredients for Tik Tok Bacon Cinnamon Rolls Recipe
- King’s Hawaiian Rolls: One package of 12 count rolls.
- Cooked Sliced bacon: Cook the thin or thick pork or turkey bacon until nicely browned and crispy, then place onto a paper towel-lined plate to let the fats drain. Or buy a package of precooked bacon. Even some real bacon bits can work too.
- Butter: Soften the butter on the counter at room temperature or use the defrost setting on your microwave for a few seconds until the butter is nicely softened but not melted.
- Dark brown sugar
- Cinnamon
- Icing ingredients: Powdered sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, kosher salt, milk – the usual suspects.
Recipe tips
- To make the cinnamon roll icing easy to drizzle right from the bowl, heat it in the microwave for a just few seconds to liquefy it a bit.
- This recipe is easy to double since two sheets of Hawaiian rolls fit nicely into an 18×26-inch rimmed baking sheet when placed sideways.
- You can assemble the cinnamon rolls ahead of time and refrigerate until you want to bake them fresh.
How to make Bacon Stuffed Cinnamon Rolls
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Unpackage the Hawaiian rolls; use a serrated knife to slice the sheet of Hawaiian rolls in half, removing the top sheet from the bottom. Place the bottom half of the rolls onto a greased 9×13 rimmed baking sheet or baking dish.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened butter with the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring until smooth and combined well.
Spread half of the prepared brown sugar/butter mixture over the bottom sheet of rolls in the pan. Top with the slices of cooked bacon, laying them side-by-side.
Cover the bacon with the top sheet of Hawaiian rolls. Spread the remaining half of brown sugar/butter mixture over the top.
Bake the rolls, uncovered, on the center oven rack for 12-15 minutes, or until hot throughout; remove to a cooling rack.
Meanwhile, combine the icing ingredients together in a medium mixing bowl. Whisk together until smooth.
Drizzle the prepared icing mixture over the warm rolls and serve at once.
How to store
Due to the bacon in the cinnamon rolls, it is best to store any leftovers in refrigeration for no more than 3 days. Reheat in the microwave before serving.
How to reheat bacon cinnamon rolls
If you have any of these rolls leftover (it’s doubtful!), you can reheat them in your microwave on full power for 10-15 seconds. They are like freshly-baked!
What’s the easiest way to cook bacon?
We love to cook bacon in our air fryer. In 8-10 minutes (depending on the thickness of your bacon) at 350 degrees F., you can have perfect, golden brown and crispy slices of bacon. Place the warm bacon on a paper towel-lined plate to drain away the fats.
Can This Recipe Be Doubled?
Heck yes! It’s just as easy to make two or three batches as it is one. You can fit two batches of these cinnamon rolls on a rimmed 13×18-inch baking sheet.
Can I Make This with Bacon Bits?
Definitely not imitation bacon bits as they are too hard and chewy. However, if you’re talking about real chopped bacon pieces, then yes, in a pinch, I think they would work okay, especially if you warm them up in a skillet first.
Can I Make This with Prepackaged Prepared Bacon?
Yes, but place the bacon strips into a skillet and heat them up first so they render a bit of the bacon fat for extra flavor in the cinnamon rolls.
Can I Make This In The Air Fryer?
I’ve not tried this recipe in the air fryer, but I totally think it would work. Once you have the rolls assembled, place them into the air fryer basket and air fryer at 300 – 325 degrees F. (depending on how hot your air fryer cooks) for 10-12 minutes or until nicely golden brown. Frost as the recipe directs.
