Powdered sugar, for sprinkling, if desired, optional
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Unpackage and unroll the puff pastry sheet onto a clean work surface that has been sprinkled with a tiny bit of flour.
Spread the cookie butter over one half of the puff pastry rectangle, then fold the puff pastry over the top.
Using a pizza cutter, cut the puff pastry into 6 equal strips.
Twist each strip, then from a cinnamon roll by placing the twisted strip into each of the greased cups of a 6-muffin tin, wrapping it around.
Bake the cinnamon rolls, uncovered, for 20-25 minutes on the center oven rack or until golden brown on the top and bottom.
Remove the cinnamon rolls from the oven, letting them rest for 5 minutes in the muffin tin; transfer the rolls to a platter.
Warm a couple tablespoons of cookie butter in the microwave for 15-20 seconds; drizzle over each cinnamon roll. Sprinkle with a bit of powdered sugar, if desired. **Cinnamon rolls can also be topped with a bit of fresh fruit, such as diced strawberries or peaches.
Notes
If you'd like to add some crunch, sprinkle the cookie butter spread with some finely diced pecans or walnuts before rolling up the dough.
Don't remove the puff pastry from refrigeration until you're immediately ready to make the cinnamon rolls. Puff pastry is easiest to work with while it's freshly chilled. As it comes closer to room temperature the dough becomes too soft and won't hold it's shape as well.
I like using my pizza cutter to cut the puff pastry into strips - it works quick and slick!
