Ooey-Gooey Warm Brownie Cobbler

A dessert that combines brownies and cobber? Heck yes and please!! And talk about an easy chocolate dessert to whip up in a hurry. Your family and friends will adore this warm and fudgy Ooey-Gooey Warm Brownie Cobbler - just add a scoop of ice cream and serve it up!

Ingredients
 

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder, divided use
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. kosher salt
  • 2 Tbs. melted butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Topping

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 Tbs. cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, 3/4 tsp. salt, and 3/4 cup sugar; stir in the melted butter, milk and vanilla. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Spread the prepared batter into a 9x9-inch greased baking dish; sprinkle the walnuts (or pecans) over the batter.
  • In a second mixing bowl, combine the remaining 1 Tbs. cocoa powder, 1/4 cup sugar, brown sugar, and 1/2 tsp. salt; spread the topping mixture evenly over the top of the batter and walnuts.
  • Pour the boiling water over all - DO NOT STIR!!
  • Bake the brownie cobbler for 30 minutes, or until the top of the cobbler is almost set. **The baked brownie part of the dessert rises to the top while the pudding part forms on the bottom.
  • Serve the brownie cobbler warm with ice cream or a good drizzle of whipped topping.
