1medium onionsliced into 1/2-inch slices
1sweet red bell pepper, seeds and membranes removedsliced into 1/4-inch slices

Instructions
Place the sliced onions and bell peppers into a large mixing oil; drizzle with a bit of olive oil, tossing to coat. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning and salt and pepper, to taste, over the vegetables, then toss once more.
Place the seasoned vegetables onto the rack of your air fryer in a single layer, then slide the rack into the air fryer that is set to 325 degrees F. Cook the vegetables for minutes, then top them with the pre-cooked brats.
Cook the brats with the vegetables for 5 minutes, then turn the brats to the other side and cook an additional 5-10 minutes, as needed, keeping a careful eye on the the brats so they don't get too brown. Serve at once.
Notes
The word “brat” is slang for the sausage called bratwurst. All brats are sausages, but not all sausages are brats. There are many types of sausages.Sausage is defined as ground meat with seasonings that are packed into a casing to make a cylindrical, elongated piece of meat that comes in various sizes. Most sausages are sold in the raw form. This recipe calls for brats that are pre-cooked. Pre-cooked brats are great for fast meals because all they need is to be heated throughout and browned on the exterior. Voila – they are ready to eat….pronto!Pre-cooked brats are typically going to be found in the refrigerated case where you will find hotdogs and lunchmeat because these items are pre-cooked as well.Brats that are not pre-cooked (raw) are typically located in the meat case containing other pork products (such as pork chops and pork roasts, etc) since all of these items need to be cooked before they can be eaten. If you want to make this meal with raw brats instead of the pre-cooked brats the recipe is recommending, you will need to cook them for a much longer time.If using raw brats, cook them alone in the air fryer until they reach an internal temperature of 150 degrees F before adding them to the peppers and onions.
