Ingredients
1cupall-purpose flour
1/4cupcocoa powder, divided use
3/4cup granulated sugar
2tsp.baking powder
3/4tsp.kosher salt
2Tbs.melted butter
1/2cupmilk
1tsp.vanilla extract
1/2cupsemi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2cupchopped walnuts or pecans
Topping
1/4cupgranulated sugar
1/2cupdark brown sugar
1/2tsp.kosher salt
1cupboiling water
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 Tbs. cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, 3/4 tsp. salt, and 3/4 cup sugar; stir in the melted butter, milk and vanilla. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Spread the prepared batter into a 9x9-inch greased baking dish; sprinkle the walnuts (or pecans) over the batter.
In a second mixing bowl, combine the remaining 1 Tbs. cocoa powder, 1/4 cup sugar, brown sugar, and 1/2 tsp. salt; spread the topping mixture evenly over the top of the batter and walnuts.
Pour the boiling water over all - DO NOT STIR!!
Bake the brownie cobbler for 30 minutes, or until the top of the cobbler is almost set. **The baked brownie part of the dessert rises to the top while the pudding part forms on the bottom.
Serve the brownie cobbler warm with ice cream or a good drizzle of whipped topping.
