There is always something new happening at A&H Farm! For Andrea and Hugo Dejesus, farming began three generations ago and just keeps getting better. Along with their 7 children, these From the Land of Kansas members take their mission of providing farm-fresh products and family-friendly fun for residents in the Manhattan Area very seriously. From the local farmer’s market to their popular Pumpkin Patch and pick-your-own Farm, A&H Farm does it all!
One of their summer specialties, however, is fire-roasted peppers. Every Saturday morning you can smell their peppers roasting from across the market on their big chili-roaster. When I met with Andrea on WIBW she explained how buyers can choose their own peppers (hot, sweet, mild, medium) and have them roasted on the spot! They are then sent home with a plastic bag of “sweating” peppers that will be ready to add to their favorite dishes or eaten whole. What a treat!
So take your family over to Manhattan any time of year to visit A&H Farm for fresh roasted chilies, pumpkin patch adventures, pick-your-own strawberries, or just to say hi! You can learn more on their website or follow them on Facebook.
If you can’t make a visit to Manhattan for their delicious fire-roasted peppers, I share in the video below a couple ways you can roast your own at home. Then you can make this delicious
