TOUCHDOWN!

Hot Lava Cheese Dip in A Bread Bowl

2 cups sour cream
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
2 cups shredded cheddar
1 cup chopped cooked bacon
3 scallions, chopped
1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
1 lb. round loaf sour dough bread, center hollowed out
Dried parsley for garnish
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place bread loaf into a greased cast iron skillet or onto a greased baking sheet.
In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients (except bread loaf), reserving 1-2 Tbs. shredded cheese. Place mixture into bread, allowing it to mound up above loaf. Sprinkle top with reserved cheese and a bit of dried parsley.
Bake, uncovered, on center rack for 22-25 minutes or until nicely hot and bubbly throughout, allowing dip to ooze down over the loaf a bit as it bakes. Serve with crackers or tortilla chips.
