Howdy! Chef Alli Here. Let’s Get You Cookin’….Shall We? 🙂

Anything wrapped in crescent roll dough and baked until golden brown is always delightful….am I right? These Crescent Roll Chicken Bundles are no exception!

Think of the filling for these bundles as a warm, basic chicken salad that you can dress up or dress down.

I typically keep the chicken filling more on the basic side for my guys, but the addition of pimentos and diced green pepper or chopped scallions would add some pretty color and also a bit of crunch.

Things to Love About This Recipe –

  • It’s soooo easy!
  • The bundles can be on the dinner table in just about 30 minutes.
  • Using canned cooked chicken from the pantry is super convenient.

How to Make Crescent Roll Chicken Bundles – Just 4 Easy Steps

  1. Prepare the chicken filling.
  2. Unroll 2 cans of crescent roll dough, dividing it into 8 rectangles, pressing the center seam perforations closed on each one.
  3. Divide the filling into 8 portions, placing it onto each rectangle of dough; pull the corners up and around the filling, pinching the dough together to make the bundles.
  4. Top each bundle with the crushed croutons and bake until golden brown. Serve at once!

Crescent Roll chicken Bundles bake up so golden brown and flaky.

Ingredients Needed to Make Crescent Chicken Bundles

  • Crescent Roll Dough – 2 cans
  • Shredded Cooked Chicken
  • Cream Cheese
  • Milk
  • Granulated Onion, Salt and Pepper
  • Seasoned Croutons
  • Melted Butter

If you follow along here on my blog, you know that my guys love any and all crescent roll treats that I bake.

I love to make Easy Orange Breakfast Crescents for family members and friends since I enjoy hosting brunch gatherings.  Cherry Cream Cheese Danish are wildly popular for breakfast on the weekends, too.

As for savory crescent roll recipes, I find myself making lots of Mummie Poppers at Halloween, and also the Spicy Italian Sub Crescent Ring. Oh! And I can’t leave out two other savory favorites – the Ham and BACON Pastry Ring and Chili Cheese Dog Dip with Fritos

Helpful Recipe Tips  –

  • Always use the crescent roll dough when it’s chilled, even if you have to return it to refrigeration half way through the recipe process.
  • Crescent Roll dough that warms up to room temp is nearly always very difficult to work with!
  • I’ve discovered that using canned chicken when making these Crescent Roll Chicken Bundles makes the filling much more creamy. 🙂
  • Using the seasoned croutons for the topping really makes a difference in this recipe – the added crunch really compliments.
  • You can use low fat cream cheese for this recipe – it works just great.
  • Be sure that when you are adding the milk to the cream cheese that you do it a little at a time.
  • Even though the recipe only calls for 4 Tbs. of milk, if you add the milk all at once you will get a very lumpy mixture that’s hard to smooth out…IF it even will.
  • For the best browning, I start my Chicken Bundles out on the lowest rack in the oven, then move them up to the center rack, half way through the baking time.  This makes sure both the bottom and the top of each bundle gets golden brown and flaky.

  • 2 12 oz. can cooked shredded chicken, or 3 cups cooked shredded chicken breast, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp. granulated onion
  • kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • 1 cup seasoned croutons, crushed (may substitute panko bread crumbs, if desired)
  • 2-3 Tbs. butter, melted

  2. Unwrap both cans of the crescent roll dough, dividing the dough into 8 squares, placing each one onto a greased baking sheet. Top each square with 1/8 of the prepared chicken mixture.

  3. In a small mixing bowl, combine the crushed croutons with the melted butter; divide evenly, sprinkling over the top of chicken mixture. Pull the opposite corners of the dough together, pinching it closed over the filling to create the bundles.
